02. PROGRAM OVERVIEW

6 YEARS (12 SEMESTERS)

1- 5 semesters: pre-clinical courses

6-9 semesters: clinical courses

10-12 semesters: full-time clinical practice in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics Gynecology, Psychiatry and one elective medical subspeciolty in University Departments of 16 Hospitals in Athens. Students function by shadowing medical residence within the Department between 8.00 – 16.00 every working day and participate in night shifts at least once a week for 2-3 months in each course. Successful examination in 48 obligatory courses and 12 elective courses.

360 ECTS to be acquired

Possibility to learn the Greek language at the Modern Greek Language Teaching Center of the University

WHO MAY APPLY

The program is addressed exclusively to foreign nationals of EU and non-EU countries (national ID card and passport are required). Specifically:

A) Eligible applicants should have attended the final two years of high school (or equivalent school) in a foreign country and should have obtained a high school diploma (July 2025 or earlier) or another equivalent secondary education diploma that entitles them to admission to higher education institutions in the country where they graduated. (A high school graduation diploma and academic transcripts for the final two years will be required, both in the original language and in on official translation in English.)

B) Eligible are also graduates of a recognized foreign high school from another EU Member State or a third country, which is based and legally operates in Greece, are also eligible, provided that their leaving certificate entitles the holder to admission to higher educational institutions in the country whose curriculum the foreign high school follows. Additionally: ba) Neither the applicants nor their parents are Greek nationals (national ID card and passport will be required for proof). bb) Applicants have attended on a full-time basis at least the final two grades of the recognized foreign high school. (A high school graduation diploma and academic transcripts for the final two years will be required, both in the original language and in on official translation in English.)

Eligible applicants should have obtained/obtain at least one of the following:

  • University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT)
  • Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT)
  • Advanced Placements (APs) & Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
  • BSc cognate to medicine

07. REQUIREMENTS

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Certificate of competency in English – at least t he B2 level

  • TOEFL score (with a minimum score 80/120)
  • IELTS: Overall score of 6.5 or above, with at least 5.5 in each component.
  • First Certificate in English (FCE): B2

*Candidates who are English native speakers or have a graduation diploma from a high school with the instruction in the English language, are exempt from submitting a certificate of competency in English
