The Medical Degree English Program of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) is pleased to announce its participation in “Medicine Across Borders,” a one-day, two-part educational webinar taking place on Sunday, November 8, 2026.

Organized through a collaboration between the Schools of Medicine of five Greek universities — the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Thessaly, the University of Crete, and the University of Patras — and the Hellenic Medical Society of America, the webinar aims to strengthen educational connections between Greece and the United States.

The event brings together academic representatives and medical professionals to provide valuable information for prospective medical students interested in studying in Greece, as well as current students and graduates exploring opportunities for residency training in the United States.

Part I | Study Medicine in Greece

9:00–11:00 AM ET | 16:00–18:00 Greece Time

The first session, A Guide for U.S. Applicants Exploring Medical Education in Greece, will introduce participants to English-taught medical degree programs offered by Greek universities.

Topics will include admission requirements, program structure, tuition fees, student life, clinical education, and future career opportunities.

The session is particularly relevant to prospective applicants and families interested in exploring Greece as a destination for medical education.

Part II | From Greece to U.S. Residency

11:00 AM–1:00 PM ET | 18:00–20:00 Greece Time

The second session, A Roadmap for Medical Students in Greece Pursuing Residency Training in the U.S., will focus on the steps involved in pursuing postgraduate medical training in the United States.

Participants will gain insights into the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification, U.S. clinical experience, residency applications, and the matching process.

This session is designed for medical students and graduates seeking practical guidance on navigating the U.S. residency pathway.
