White Coat Ceremony of the Medical Degree English Program at the School of Medicine 2026

Our first-year students were officially welcomed to the NKUA community by Professor Sophia Papaioannou, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, International Relations and Extroversion; Professor Pagona Lagiou, Dean of the School of Health Sciences; Professor Nikolaos Arkadopoulos, Dean of the School of Medicine; and Professor Konstantinos Tsioufis, Director of the Medical Degree English Program and Vice-Dean of the School of Medicine.

The highlight of the day was, of course, the moment our new students received and wore their white coats for the first time — a milestone they will remember throughout their medical careers.

The celebration was accompanied by a beautiful musical performance by the Mixed Choir of the Department of Music Studies of NKUA and concluded with our first-year group photo and a reception in the University Courtyard.
Smiles, excitement, new friendships and white coats — some of our favourite moments from a truly special day.

To our newest medical students: Welcome to NKUA. Your journey in Medicine starts here!
